Towing in Somerville, Raritan and Branchburg, NJ: the county seat, the Circle and the roads west
Somerville is the county seat, with the courthouse, a busy Main Street and a train station on the Raritan Valley Line. Raritan borough sits beside it to the west, and Branchburg spreads out beyond both along Route 22 and Route 28. From our Linden yard this area is about forty minutes, with Branchburg a little farther.
What gets towed in Somerville, Raritan and Branchburg, and how the trucks reach them
Calls here come from Main Street and the station lots in Somerville, the Somerville Circle and Route 202/206, the hospital and ballpark traffic, and Route 28 and Route 22 out through Raritan and Branchburg, about forty minutes from the yard at the $149 flat booking fee, or $129 if you book online.
Main Street Somerville and the courthouse area
Somerville's Main Street is a walkable downtown with restaurants, the county offices and the courthouse a block off. Parking is on the street, in municipal lots and near the station.
Jump starts and lockouts are common here and cost one flat price. For a tow on a narrow downtown block, the driver sizes up the space before choosing the truck.
The Somerville Circle and Route 202/206
The Somerville Circle, where Routes 202, 206 and 28 meet, is one of the most crash-prone spots in the county. Merging traffic and quick lane changes produce steady fender-benders.
If the car still moves, pull off the Circle onto a side road or a lot before calling. If it does not, stay clear of the car and tell the dispatcher which exit of the Circle you are near.
The hospital on Rehill Avenue and TD Bank Ballpark
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset sits on Rehill Avenue, with visitors and staff parked around the clock. Dead batteries after a long shift are a regular call.
TD Bank Ballpark, home of the Somerset Patriots, sits along Route 28 at the Bridgewater edge of Somerville. Game nights bring heavy traffic and the odd car that will not start in the lot afterward.
Raritan borough and Branchburg
Raritan runs along Route 28 and Somerset Street west of Somerville, and Branchburg extends past it with Raritan Valley Community College, business parks and long stretches of Route 22 and Route 28.
Branchburg is a bit farther than Somerville from our yard. The dispatcher gives the real window, and a scheduled pickup is easy when the car is parked safely.

Short answers to what people ask about this page; the dispatcher can answer the rest.
How long does a truck take to reach Somerville?
About forty minutes from our Linden yard, sometimes less if a truck is already working Bridgewater or Route 28. Branchburg takes a little longer.
I hit someone at the Somerville Circle. Can you tow my car to my body shop?
Yes. Once police clear the scene, name the shop and the driver takes it there. The car is photographed before it moves.
My car will not start in the hospital lot. Do I need a tow?
Probably a jump start, which is one flat price. If the battery will not hold, the tow can follow on the same visit.
Can you tow from the TD Bank Ballpark lot after a game?
Yes. Expect a longer wait while game traffic clears, and tell the dispatcher which lot you are in.
